We're seeking a Union Office Coordinator in Amherst. This opportunity could be the one you've been looking for.
Pay Rate: $20/hr
Duration: Until June 30th- with potential permanent hire
Location: Amherst,MA

- Assisting in the orderly and efficient operation of the union office
- Providing administrative support for internal and external communications via email, phone calls, and in-person interactions
- Attending weekly new employee orientation sessions, preparing new member packets, and tracking new bargaining unit members
- Supporting the President or their designee with meeting scheduling, calendar updates, email management, and other administrative tasks
- Assisting officers, board members, stewards, and committee members with scheduling meetings, room reservations, and other logistics
- Coordinating union events, including planning, obtaining space, ordering supplies, and managing logistics
- Informing the union treasurer and the President of union expenditures and maintaining electronic records
- Attending meetings and taking notes/minutes as needed
- Have a high school degree or equivalent
- Are proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and can learn databases such as OneDrive
- Can maintain harmonious relationships with union members, the community, and the public
- Can maintain confidentiality and prioritize assignments while working independently
- Possess excellent customer service skills, computer skills, and some experience with bookkeeping
- Have problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate and follow detailed instructions
- Have experience working in higher education and familiarity with working in a unionized workplace (preferred)
- Have a valid driver's license
- Proof of Recent Covid Vaccination
