Utility Worker - 2nd Shift - M-F 3PM - 11PM - $20.00 per hour

Purpose
Clean machines, machine parts, and physical department of all foreign material. Perform facilities cleaning. Assist in transporting materials within the facility (including: pallets, bins, drums, etc.)

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
? Ensure safe work environment by following all safety and ergonomic rules, including any special personal protective equipment (PPE), Lockout Tagout, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements (OSHA), Company Guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) applying to a particular process or area.
? Use basic hand tools, cleaning equipment (i.e., floor scrubbers, ultrasonic baths, bin washer, etc) and cleaning supplies to perform the following duties:
? Clean department's machines and machine parts of all foreign material, which includes operation of bin washers.
? Clear floors of skids, waste containers, etc.
? Sweep, scrub, wet mop floors.
? Dust walls and clean windows, water coolers, and sinks.
? Strip and wax floors.
? Facility cleaning according to schedule and SOPs
? Operate fork truck (as needed) and/or other material handling equipment in order to move raw and WIP materials, skids, bins, etc. within production areas as well as stage product bins for shipment out of the building. Inspect materials retrieved to ensure compliance to cGMPs, and identify/report to supervision any non-conforming item to resolve prior to material transfer.
? Report all preventive maintenance (PM) needed for department machines to Production Supervisor and complete required PM work as assigned.
? Take trash to compactor. Drive and coordinate recycling activities and “green” initiatives (i.e. separate items for recycling, dispose of items in proper dumpsters, etc.)
? Dispose of hazardous waste daily and document as required per cGMPs (i.e., branding ink, cleaning rags, etc.)
? Fill store requisitions and order/maintain supplies for department's inventory.
? Help build team-oriented culture by motivating and supporting team members, being faithful to the team process by sharing knowledge with all members of the department to continuously improve the process.
? Take ownership of training and learning to develop high performance competencies such as technical skills, communication skills, and skills to build a team-oriented culture (i.e. training team members, take ownership of training records for self-development and submit to supervision in timely manner, motivating and supporting team members, sharing knowledge to continuously improve the process, etc.).
? Coordinate work with external contractors and vendors as directed by supervision.
? May assist line team members in packaging and manufacturing, including: hand packing, sorting, pack outs, etc.
? May be required to perform cleaning tasks during plant shut down periods.
? May perform other duties as assigned.

Key Working Relationships
• Day-to-day contact with production supervision and production employees, and frequent contact with Warehouse personnel for material transfers, etc.
• Position may require contact with material suppliers and vendors (i.e. accompany “outside contractors” to and from work areas and provide them with resources necessary to complete their jobs.)

• General direction provided by Production Supervisor and daily work is routine in nature.
• Specific process instructions are provided in written documentation (i.e. SOPs) to complete detail-orientated tasks, most of which are driven by government agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and/or Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
• Frequent schedule changes due to production/customer demands may be required.

Qualifications and Competencies
? High School Diploma or GED required.
? Must be willing to work overtime as required, based on production demands.

Preferred
? At least 6 months experience working in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or standard operating procedures (SOP) environment w/Cleaning/janitorial experience.
? Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely in a production environment.
• Must be able to demonstrate a mathematical aptitude. Skills in addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, & metric system.
? Good PC Skills, including use of e-mail & attaching documents to e-mail. Previous experience using electronic databases and on-line tools (i.e., including but not limited to, Lotus Notes database, Employee Self-Services HR Direct On-line tools, etc)
? Demonstrated ability to read/interpret/follow instructions in regard to workplace documentation, such as SOP's, Operator Manuals, Work Instructions, etc.
? Demonstrated technical ability as measured by good troubleshooting skills.
