Job Title: Warehouse Sorter Operator
Location: Savannah, GA
Department: Warehouse Operations
Pay: $18/hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:45 PM start
Must Have:
Candidates must have prior experience operating a forklift or electric pallet jack to be considered.
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Sorter Operator is responsible for monitoring multiple conveyor lines that feed into box trucks for wine and spirits distribution. This role requires vigilant attention to detail, as you'll inspect wave sequence integrity, resolve case jams, check for breakage, and ensure each case and label is handled correctly. You'll use both mechanical and software systems, monitor workflow, and report hourly productivity to warehouse leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Start all systems 30 minutes before your shift; check mechanical and software functions
- Use the PA system to communicate shift volume and last wave closeouts to loaders for each truck
- Monitor the WCS Monitor at the sorter desk to ensure all cases are in proper wave sequence
- Resolve jams and misrouted cases, inspect for damages, and clean up spills
- Ensure all loads are closed out correctly with proper labels or stickers
- Safely operate and shut down the conveyor line as needed
- Identify and address issues with cases, labels, or sequences promptly
- Keep the facility neat, clean, and safe at all times
- Submit accurate hourly productivity reports to leadership
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have forklift or electric pallet jack experience
- Six months of warehouse or conveyor system experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail—especially in identifying and addressing incorrect cases and labels
- Able to read, write, and perform basic math

- Occasional work in refrigerated areas
- Exposure to moderate to loud noise, dust, and fumes from power equipment
- Reliable attendance is essential
- Frequently operate pallet jacks and/or forklifts if assigned
- Must be able to stand, walk, reach, lift, and carry throughout the shift
- Able to lift 50-65 lbs, including some overhead lifting
- Specific vision needed for close and far distances and judging distance
