Job Title: Waste Management Technician
Direct Hire Position
- Pay: $22 per hour
- Shift: Monday through Thursday, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm
- Location: St. Clair, MO
- Collect and appropriately store solid, liquid, and aerosol wastes generated through the production process on a daily basis.
- Accurately record all waste according to established procedures.
- Complete all disposal and shipping paperwork in compliance with procedural standards.
- Ensure proper labeling of waste containers in accordance with procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date records of waste weights and inventory to guarantee appropriate disposal.
- Coordinate with the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to schedule waste pickups.
- Load and unload propellants, solvents, and wastes as required.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintain documentation for the bulk hazardous waste tank, aerosol totes, MSA, and general storage area.
- Properly dispose of damaged waste containers and replace them as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Basic math skills are essential.
- Must meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Ability to work productively in an independent role.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Focus on safety, dependability, and a sense of urgency.
- Consistent, excellent attendance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the following certifications and training:
- Forklift Certification with specific Hazardous Waste Handling.
- Hazard Communication Training.
- 24 or 40-hour HAZWOPER Training.
- 10-hour function-specific DOT HazMat Training.
