Full time direct hire opportunity in the Troy, MI area for a Wire Harness Engineer.
Must have a strong background wire harness (component and/or product side)
Will be the technical liaison for the client, providing technical support and questions.
Experience with low voltage power cables
Salary range up to $125,000k
Position Summary:
The candidate, directly reporting to the Corporate Engineering Manager, will be responsible for:
• Collaborate with General Management to achieve objectives and ensure customer satisfaction
•Maintain relationships with clients and suppliers in the fields of engineering and project management (scouting new clients, defining specifications, complying with standards, executing tests, managing timelines, etc.), by participating in technical meetings and visiting clients' offices/plants
• Pursue innovation to meet customer demands in terms of high-performance, reliable, and competitive technical solutions
• Manage wiring harness drawings (2D and 3D) and all required documentation
•Analyze quotation requests and modification requirements based on customer-provided specifications, by interpreting technical drawings in order to understand components in detail
• Support various company departments (Industrialization, Purchasing, Cost Engineering, Quality, etc.) in understanding the technical aspects of the product and process, especially in the case of customer claims
• Scout local suppliers for sourcing materials required for wiring harness production
Ideal candidate:
• Strong experience in the Engineering department
• Deep knowledge of wiring harness engineering and production for the Automotive sector, mainly for the power cables.
• Excellent command of CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, NX) and PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter).
• Good problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and good ability to maintain relationships with customers and suppliers
