Workers' Compensation Claims Manager
Location: 1101 Creekside Ridge Dr Roseville CA 95678 United States
Contract: 9 months 
Work: Hybrid - TBD Hiring manager
Schedule - as early as 7am (Flexible)

Salary: 48.08hr | $100K Annual

Experience Required:

Minimum 5 years of claims management experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Indemnity & litigation experience is a must
SIP certification preferred
Primary Purpose
The Workers' Compensation Claims Manager will analyze, manage, and resolve complex and high-exposure workers' compensation claims. This role involves litigation handling, benefit determination, subrogation identification, and settlement negotiation while ensuring compliance with industry best practices and client-specific requirements.

Essential Responsibilities
Analyze and process complex workers' compensation claims, gathering necessary information to assess exposure and determine benefits.
Develop and execute action plans for timely claim resolution.
Negotiate settlements within designated authority.
Assign and manage claim reserves throughout the claim's lifecycle.
Process claim payments, adjustments, and settlements efficiently.
Manage litigation, ensuring cost-effective and timely claim resolution.
Coordinate vendor referrals for investigation and litigation management.
Implement cost-containment strategies to reduce overall claim costs.
Manage claim recoveries, including subrogation, Second Injury Fund excess recoveries, and Social Security/Medicare offsets.
Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to inquiries professionally.
Maintain strong communication with claimants and clients to ensure transparency and satisfaction.
Ensure accurate documentation and coding for all claim files.
Refer cases to supervisors/management when necessary.
Additional Responsibilities
Participate in the organization's quality programs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Travel as required.

Qualifications
Education & Licensing:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Professional certification applicable to WC claims preferred.

Experience:
Minimum 5 years of claims management experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
10+ years of workers' compensation claims experience required.
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of WC insurance principles, laws, and cost-containment strategies.
Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities.

Work Environment
Mental: Requires strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Physical: Frequent computer use; some travel may be required.
Auditory/Visual: Requires good hearing, vision, and verbal communication skills.
Background Check: Credit security clearance via background credit check is required.
