Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance Manager manages the strategic and operational maintenance functions/activities in the plant to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services meeting Kraton standards and is beyond the customer's expectations. Ensures a safe, environmentally sound, reliable facility by planning, setting standards, and formulating policies; develops procedures and practices, and training. Responsible for auditing, ensuring root cause failure analysis, recommendation, and implementation of improvements, and follow-up.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Managing excellent customer relations, providing leadership to the maintenance team, ensuring delivery of efficient and effective maintenance service, managing and implementing change, coaching, mentoring, developing maintenance team members, developing and managing budgets and KPI's, ensuring a safe work environment, ensuring compliance to all Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHS&E) regulations and standards, driving a culture to improve effective and efficient operations, establishing and maintaining quality maintenance practices, responsible for subcontractor framework contracts, controlling maintenance business results, ensuring service delivery to customers is in line with corporate strategy, driving equipment reliability, proactively, maintaining and promoting team spirit to achieve plant objectives, preparing annual maintenance budget, ongoing management of the budget, developing key performance Indicators (KPI's) benchmarking against internal/external standards, and actively develop people.

The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead the maintenance organization responsible for continuous repair and improvement.  Direct reports include I&E technicians and mechanics. 
  • Interface for all central contracted work in the plant, which includes both cost and capital work.
  • Give functional directions to the material, engineering and inspection process which identifies, prioritizes, develops scopes, plans, and starts up capital projects. 
  • Manage the planning, scheduling, staffing, and execution of shutdowns. 
  • Serve on the Plant Leadership Team (PLT).
  • Develop self, direct reports, and other leaders through training, use of teams and problem solving.
  • Set direction and implementing key improvements in support of the business objectives.
Required Skills
  • 5+ years of relatable experience.
  • Strong business and technical skills in continuous and batch processing, reliability, SAP utilization and maintenance.  
  • Able to handle multiple, complex priorities and balance the needs of each according to business impact.
  • Systemic problem solver, implementing solutions to solve root cause problems.
  • Ability to create an environment that encourages and rewards teamwork and collaboration, both internally and externally.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and strong facilitation ability.
  • Experience in the management of change.
Education, Certifications & Licenses
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
