The purpose of the Technician role is to provide laboratory application testing, technical service and manufacturing support to scientists, to support the maintenance and growth of the business in target market segments.
As Technician you carry out fundamental mechanical/physical testing as part of two different teams (Application and Tires). These tests assist in the advancement and development of new materials as well as gathering data necessary to support the business teams. With the support of senior staff, develops formulations for various end-use and intermediate markets. You will assist with product scale-up, optimizing processing and performance testing. As application technician you can support key areas for the business such as Tires, Adhesive, Road marking, Coatings and Solvent cleaning.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out activities following well-defined safety and environmental standards
- Carry-out routine experimental programs based on detailed instructions provided
- Operate experimental set-up and contribute to maintenance of installations or equipment
- Execute experimental programs with responsibility for quality data produced and meeting agreed deadline
- Routinely purchase standard laboratory consumables
- Obtain and organize experimental data according to methods indicated by direct supervisor
- Inform supervisor of any experimental deviations from expected or specified values
- And other duties as assigned to safely perform
- Basic awareness of experimental techniques
- Understanding of equipment procedures required to execute experiments, and ability to translate procedures into a detailed working method
- Ability to communicate openly with team on experiment and procedure walk-throughs
- Demonstrated ability to obtain & organize experimental data according to methods indicated by supervisor
- High sense of safety awareness and responsibility for own working environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action
- Familiarity with relevant health and safety policies with regard to experiments and chemical usage

- Minimum 1 years related experience preferred
