Pay Range for this position is: $115,000-$145,000 plus annual bonus, depending on experience and geographical location.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Channel Sales Manager reports directly to the channel lead (Senior Channel Sales Manager) and will be responsible to drive case sales volume while maintaining and delivering profitability targets established for the customer(s) they are responsible for. The individual will be responsible for handling all day-to-day account duties of managing those accounts as well as identifying issues and problem solving them with other internal stakeholders and leadership. The Channel Sales Manager will also be tasked with building new business as part of the channel expansion efforts.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Building out new business in a priority expansion channel for Lassonde, which will require the ability to identify, scope, and develop relationships with new customers in new spaces
- Budget case and profitability attainment in assigned customer base (region)
- Forecast attainment & forecast accuracy
- Full ownership of assigned customer accounts
- Responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships while achieving company strategic initiatives and growth targets
- Sales attainment to their direct manager and at times to other functions (i.e. supply chain, commercialization) and other levels of leadership
- Use data and insights to execute category management with assigned accounts
- Oversight to customer specific lifecycle management (new item launches and discontinuation/seasonal selling)
- Necessary management of customer pricing action (increases & decreases, commodity-based adjustments, bid/RFP activity)
- Deduction and promotion/incentive management
- Other Customer level supply chain initiatives (finished good inventory management, a lens to replenishment needs/PO placement and PO management with order services team for pricing accuracy/new item set up accuracy etc.)
- Work together with other functional teams and sales team members to build culture of collaboration to share best practices, improve through learnings and drive forward the Lassonde Pappas personal competencies
- Support Senior Channel Sales Manager and VP as needed
- Work directly with Sales Coordinator as needed in support of pricing, item launches, and analysis
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years demonstrated sales experience, preferably in CPG industry
- Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent experience
- Ability to effectively interact, engage and communicate with internal and external customers
- Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation/influencing skills
- Must have proven business/account management experience
- Minimum 10% travel required
- Working knowledge of Excel, Power Point, and other Microsoft Office programs
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to direct, coach and train others
- Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Prior experience with Qlikview
- Experience interacting with retailers in the Convenience Store space and/or experience in Private Label
- Candidates who have existing relationships with active convenience store accounts will be strongly considered
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting, driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.
FREQUENT: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck.
OCCASIONAL: squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing 20 – 35 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.
VISION: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.
HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
