Pay Range for this position is: $62,000-$93,000 plus annual bonus, depending on experience and geographical location. 



 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Deduction Analyst reports to the AR Supervisor and is based out of our Cherry Hill, NJ location. This individual supports the day-to-day functional operations of the accounts receivable area for the Finance Department.   The Deduction Analyst is responsible for resolving customer deductions in a timely manner while identifying trends that will influence customer behavior.  Major responsibilities include root cause analysis, validation, resolution and reporting of all customer deductions.  Accurate and timely resolution of all deductions within the department guidelines with a focus on deduction prevention. 

 


Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Manage a customer portfolio that includes the top Private Label and Branded customers
  • Responsible for the timely, accurate, approved entry and maintenance of trade settlements 
  • Verify promotion event details by confirming alignment of terms against trade customer contracts and communicate discrepancies
  • Identify trends in deductions, such as shortages, damages, unsaleable, and pricing
  • Review and manage deduction balances, ensure receipt of proper documentation and information from key customers 
  • Identify appropriate solutions in order to reduce and prevent deductions 
  • Interact with Customer Service and Sales team to resolve deductions (including field sales and brokers regarding short paid invoices and backup documentation)
  • Follow up with AR/customer when additional documentation is required including customer web-portals
  • Support the team Manager in KPIs review and weekly/monthly update with the team
  • Drive process change in the deduction area (i.e. Unsaleable, Shortages, Payback)
  • Work collaboratively with a variety of individuals within the department, company and external brokers, and customers alike
  • Identify and implement process improvements and test new features/functions
  • Provide support for internal and external audits 
  • Performs other general accounting tasks and projects as assigned

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or Business
  • 2-3 years related experience in Accounting, Finance 
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in consumer products manufacturing (food and beverage strongly preferred)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting; driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.

 

FREQUENT: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials

 

OCCASIONAL: squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing 20 – 35 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet

 

VISION: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction

 

HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
