The Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business within DRS has locations in Dallas and Austin, TX, Melbourne, FL, and Cypress, CA. Job Summary Job Responsibilities- Operate various types of manufacturing, material growth reactors and or process equipment to conduct complex experiments or to grow custom materials
- Provide routine technical support to engineers and scientists on standard components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipment
- Responsibilities may include testing, modifying, reworking, repairing, and building electronic, optical or mechanical assemblies.
- Work from standard wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches
- Design and/or test prototype assemblies and production units
- Capable of performing related manufacturing processes
- Interpret and follow documents such as SOPs and safety rules
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations and any applicable certification required to maintain the certification
- Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materials
- Perform Key Performance Indicators:
- Position requires the ability to coordinate several activities at the same time, and to reprioritize in response to changing operational conditions
- Ability to read, and possibly develop, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansion, and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Job Responsibilities Part II
- Support engineering activities for multiple programs
- Support production and development projects
- Perform data analysis to assist the Product Engineering team
- Perform and complete technical projects
- Responsible for completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel as required
- Ability to work independently and under the supervision of others
- Other duties as assigned
- Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related field with
- Have at least a 3.0 GPA at the time of application
- Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) over the Summer semester at the DRS Dallas facility
- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems
- Ambitious, dedicated, and goal-oriented
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
