Job Summary

The Assembler is responsible for performing a variety of mechanical, wiring, and production assembly tasks to support manufacturing operations for U.S. Naval vessels. The position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety and configuration control requirements, and a commitment to delivering reliable, mission-critical products. Duties include preparing products for assembly; completing mechanical, harness, cable, and printed circuit board (PCB) sub-assemblies; performing spray applications; and conducting detailed visual inspections of components and finished products.

This role requires the ability to interpret and follow work instructions, engineering drawings, models, and specifications to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to company and safety standards. The Assembler works collaboratively within a team environment to meet production schedules while maintaining high standards of workmanship.

Job Responsibilities
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, process flow instructions, routers, parts lists, drawings, and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Build first articles in collaboration with Engineering, interpreting prints and specifications when limited or no process documentation is available.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting, pull-testing, torque verification, and tooling validation using hand and pneumatic tools.
  • Support specialized manufacturing tasks such as wire preparation, bonding, and sleeving as needed.
  • Maintain accountability for producing high-quality work in accordance with safety requirements, SPC practices, organizational values, and continuous improvement standards to meet customer commitments.
  • Participate in Lean kaizen events and 6S activities
  • Periodically assist in coaching / training more junior assemblers
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED with minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work well in a cross functional team environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to consistently produce error-free work in a regulated or high-specification environment
  • Experience with MES and MRP a plus

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
