Job Summary

Join our IT group in Menomonee Falls, WI! This is a paidsummer college intern opportunity in our IT organization. IT interns work closely with and assist staff with various assignments.  The summer intern program consists of 10+ weeks of hands-on real world experience in an career development environment. Participation in the intern program gives preference for future semesters as an intern/co-op within DRS Naval Power Systems. A typical student will participate in 2+ semesters as an intern/co-op at DRS throughout their junior and senior years.

 

Guess what? Our summer interns get to take advantage of our 9/80 schedule which allows for every other Friday off AND you can participate in the 401(K) with our generous company match!

What You Will Do
  • Support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops, and peripherals
  • Troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required
  • Gain understanding of IT methods, programs and practices via guidance from mentor(s), supervisor and interaction with other employees/co-workers
  • Perform other duties and assists in assigned projects
  • Establishes learning and development goals with mentor or supervisor approval
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Current accredited college or university enrollment; making progress towards an associates or undergraduate degree in the relevant field
  • Grade point average of 3.0 or above
  • Understanding of current principles and practices of IT support and ability to work closely with users and other IT professionals to identify, analyze and resolve system problems
  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to successfully interact with other IT professionals and end-users

U.S. Citizenship required.
