The Leonardo DRS Land Electronics business provides C4I Network computing and integrated situational awareness, as well as state-of-the-art embedded diagnostics, vehicle power management and combat vehicle integration products and services.

Job Summary

We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Supply Chain Manager to join our team in Melbourne, FL. In this role you will monitor department policies and procedures, recommend improvements, and consult with Senior Management. You will oversee day-to-day procurement activities, assist in creating strategic supplier agreements, review, approval, and execute CPSR-compliant purchase orders.

 

This role requires effective management of supplier relationships, monitoring metrics, driving internal and external accountability, and consolidating requisitions for leverage pricing. Additionally, the candidate must have the ability to lead negotiations, ensure compliance with commercial contract law, and support the organization's mission, values, and culture. 

What You Will Do
  • Responsible for quality, delivery, and cost of procured materials
  • Manage a multi-discipline team
  • Assist in the development of forecast/requirements for area of responsibility
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategy for assigned area of responsibility
  • Implement transition plans to new supplier
  • Assist in creating Strategic Supplier Purchase Agreements
  • Enforce company and department policies and procedures
  • Monitor metrics and take action as appropriate
  • Communicate and clarify departmental goals and metrics
  • Responsible for ensuring monthly budgets are not exceeded; take action to realign to plan if budgets are exceeded
  • Consolidate requisitions as much as possible to obtain leverage pricing 
  • Review open requisitions weekly and meet with appropriate buyers on the open requisitions
  • Review placement to requisition need date and length of time in purchasing
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Quality on a team approach to supplier assessments and approval
  • Advise planning, engineering and drafting of item master errors, updates, or omissions in relation to mil-specs or new or obsolete items
  • Advise planning, engineering and contracts of changes in prices or lead times that make and produce cost-prohibitive or lead times detrimental to production cycles
  • Expedite critical components to ensure on-time deliveries
  • Be prepared to address any current or potential parts issues
  • Look for creative ways to improve purchasing ability to make contributions to the company's goals
  • Improve understanding of purchasing relationship to the over-all company plans and strategy
  • Research and analyze costing information for cost reduction
  • Evaluate dispositioned discrepancy reports, signed off by program engineers and Q.C. engineers, and submitting information to both for re-evaluation
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in high technology, aerospace or defense or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management tools and procedures
  • Demonstrated management skills, particularly “influence management” and “conflict resolution”
  • Experience throughout the product lifecycle from New Product Introduction through obsolescence to include:  generation of system and subsystem statements of work and subcontracts, strategic supplier selection, risk management, and continuous improvement efforts including implementation for cost reduction and performance improvement efforts
  • Experience interfacing with finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of DoD, ITAR, EAR, FAR, DFARS regulations
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Strong customer interface skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated success in managing manpower planning, program reviews, scheduling and budget control
  • Must have a successful track record in managing complex aerospace/defense supply chain activities
