Job SummaryThis is a fully in-person summer internship located in Germantown, Maryland. We are seeking a rising senior pursuing a degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline. Interns will work full-time for a minimum of 12 weeks during the summer.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our Systems Engineering team and gain hands-on experience in DevOps, cybersecurity, and system integration. You will develop your skills by supporting cyber streamlining initiatives, drone and interceptor integration efforts, cyber hardening of Windows and Linux systems, and other system-level projects.
Job Responsibilities- Assist engineers with DoD cybersecurity implementation, verification, and validation activities in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Support cyber hardening efforts on Windows and Linux systems, including STIG implementation and vulnerability remediation
- Contribute to drone and interceptor system integration testing under the supervision of engineers
- Conduct limited-scope testing, design analysis, and technical documentation
- Support DevOps workflows, including configuration management and automated deployment processes
- Research and evaluate tools, techniques, or technologies relevant to ongoing engineering efforts
- Participate in engineering reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Perform a variety of tasks to gain familiarity with engineering staff, methods, programs, and practices
- Other duties as assigned
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program as a rising senior, majoring in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- U.S. citizenship required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems (command line, system administration basics)
- Coursework or hands-on experience in cybersecurity, networking, or systems integration
- Exposure to DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, STIGs, NIST 800-53)
- Experience with scripting or automation tools (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Git, Ansible, or CI/CD pipelines

The salary for this position is $24/hour. This reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications.
