The Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems business is a trusted provider of innovative naval gas and hybrid power systems, control technology and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and navies around the world.
Job SummaryWhen a naval power system is put to the test, the details matter. A clear procedure, a reliable result, and a problem caught early can make a difference long before a system reaches the customer.
Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems develops naval gas and hybrid power systems, control technology, and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and navies around the world. We're looking for a Test Engineer II who enjoys turning requirements into meaningful tests, digging into unexpected results, and working with others to deliver systems that perform as intended.
What You Will Do- Develop and document test programs, procedures, and protocols for products, systems, and subsystems.
- Evaluate performance against specifications and investigate results that don't meet expectations.
- Debug test hardware and software, and help the team resolve technical issues.
- Work with engineers, support teams, and customers to understand requirements and communicate progress.
- Take ownership of assigned technical work while keeping schedule, cost, and quality in view.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field or equivalent experience with at least two years of experience.
- The technical judgment to work independently, ask good questions, and follow the evidence.
- Clear written and verbal communication, especially when explaining test results or a problem that needs attention.
Why this work matters: Testing isn't simply the last box to check. It's how a team learns whether its design will meet the commitment it made to the customer. Here, your work helps turn engineering decisions into demonstrated performance.
