Job SummaryWe are looking to add a Transportation Analyst to the team in Beavercreek, Ohio!
Perform business and systems analysis of moderate complexity on the overall products of delivery. Lead the domestic shipping, receiving, and international activities.
Job ResponsibilitiesPerform business and systems analysis of moderate complexity on the overall product delivery and transportation process
Responsible for unpacking and receiving and packaging and shipping as well as all systems transactions
Responsible for inventory pulls and inventory transactions in the system
Manage routine activity such as: invoicing, e-bills, duty allocation and validation, assists Customs issues Trace shipments, coordinate cross docks, manage UPS program, oversee origin billing with vendors, manage consolidation program, and manage global freight quotes for RFPs for freight contracts
Track supply chain activities and use independent judgment to proactively analyze needs, cost and impact of solutions and make recommendations to maximize transportation efficiency at minimum expense Communicate and counsel internal and external customers, as required, relative to general transport policy
Plan and manage cargo movement from international locations to United States
Contact suppliers for product details required for export or import such as export control classification (ECCN), tariff classification (HTS) and country of origin
Prepare required paperwork for export or import transactions including commercial invoice, packing list, shipper's letter of instruction, courier air waybill and other documents as needed
Understand and apply Incoterms to international shipments
Partner with trade compliance regarding regulatory requirements for the import or export of cargo.
Ensure trade compliance approval for export or import transactions
File Electronic Export Information (EEI) reports as required for export shipments
Provide personal “door-to-door” support on expedited and critical shipments as requested
Provide trouble-shooting and problem resolution as requested
Assemble support documentation and file freight claims with service providers and develop reporting tools to track resolution and recovery
Review and approve freight bills based on negotiated contracts, ensuring accurate and correct payments
Provide all support function activity, including accuracy and timeliness of data processing, reporting, analysis, and all other inquiries
Measure and manage the turn time for international shipments and identify gaps for overall process improvements
Responsible for inventory management and responsibilities related to Government Property
Support, communicate and defend the mission, values and culture of the company
Perform other related duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department
Participate in Six Sigma activities as contributor of idea or leadership
Participate in cross-functional teams to promote organized teamwork and inter-departmental cooperation
Job Responsibilities Part II Qualifications
Bachelors Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and 2+ years experience
2+ years experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain disciplines
International Freight experience as well as customs and documentation procedures
Technical skills requiring industry wide, multi-modal transportation knowledge
Experience with Deltek Costpoint or other major ERP
Requires proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Map Point, PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and other electronic communication programs, including use of or conversion between various file formats
Possess good time management skills and the ability to multi-task and support multiple initiatives at once with a high amount of productivity and efficiency
Ability to execute assigned tasks with limited instruction, and provide task status and ask for help when needed
Ability to identify various project reporting requirements, extract data from all needed sources and compile and format into actionable data presentations
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
