Title and Summary

Director, AI & Data Operations Overview
Mastercard has some of the most valuable data assets and innovative AI in the world. We have been incredibly successful in using artificial intelligence to create technology and services that drive tremendous value to the payments ecosystem and our clients.
Our enterprise AI & Data function will set the vision for Data and AI at Mastercard, enable the further adoption of AI technologies across the firm, support building industry-leading data and AI applications, and drive Mastercard to be a continued and visible leader in responsible data and AI.
Our AI & Data Operations team, responsible for our enterprise-wide AI & Data strategy and operations, is looking for a highly analytical and execution-driven AI & Data expert to ensure efficient operations, drive alignment, and enable strategic decision-making. This role will focus on strategy, program management, and operational transformation, working closely with senior leadership to drive high-impact projects.
Role
In this role, you will report directly to the EVP, AI & Data Operations and work closely with senior leadership to drive high-impact projects.
Strategic Initiatives & Project Management
• Support the execution of strategic, horizontal priorities by collaborating closely with the head of AI & Data Operations and other leaders across the team
• Take ownership of larger, currently unaddressed efforts (e.g., agent management, copilot license rollout for all team members).
• Manage specific cross-functional projects, starting with oversight and scaling as needed
Team Operations & Leadership
• Manage day-to-day operations of the team, including organizing monthly team calls and recurring leadership meetings, setting agendas, and overseeing key communications
• Establish and operate a KPI and reporting cadence across all AI & Data Operations teams, consolidating trends and disseminating key updates with stakeholders
• Oversee additional executive-level reporting, including priorities tracking
• Lead preparation of thought leadership and support strategic presentations
Principal Management & External Engagement
• Act as a thought partner for engaging partners – participating and leading key meetings, and serving as a representative of this team, and setting agendas & priorities in advance of key moments
• As necessary, prepare briefings, help manage commitments, and handle core team and executive cadence
• Develop executive presentations and messaging for internal audiences and facilitate effective communication across the organization.
• Shape internal- and external-facing narratives with strong analytic support and domain knowledge.
All About You
• Strong knowledge and experience working in a technology-driven environment, working across initiatives such as cloud adoption, automation, AI integration, and technology governance.
• Direct experience working with AI and data in enterprise environments
• Highly organized and detailed oriented; proficient in managing competing priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Intellectually curious with an entrepreneurial attitude and a results-driven mindset.
• Flexible and creative, able to not only adapt but also thrive in a constantly changing environment.
• Strong preference for candidates with prior experience with management consulting or similar experience, with demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
• Academic or professional experience working in Data Science, Statistics, AI, or Data Management
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to build relationships and interact effectively with individuals at all levels. In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.

Pay Ranges

Arlington, Virginia: $147,000 - $236,000 USD Purchase, New York: $147,000 - $236,000 USD
