Title and Summary

Manager, Chief of Staff OVERVIEW – ROLE PURPOSE & ROLE FOCUS AREAS

Level: Manager
Location: Dubai

Reporting to the MD Regional President, the primary purpose of the role of Manager, Chief of Staff, is to support the EEMEA Market Development President and the wider Market Development Management Team in the effective execution of the overall Business Agenda.

Towards the aim of effective execution, the primary role focus areas will comprise 3 main pillars:
1. Providing Support in Establishing an Analytics-based Strategic Mindset. 40% of role responsibilities
2. Helping to monitor our performance with support from Finance. 40% of role responsibilities
3. Providing Coordination Support as required 20% of role responsibilities

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Providing Support in Establishing an Analytics-based Strategic Governance Model:

•Help designing, updating and communicating Market Development strategy according to new trends, Mastercard's priorities and market dynamics
•Coordinate governance model for top 10 priorities of Market development and other ad-hoc projects
•Work with Segment leads and Strategy team to identify investment opportunities, build synergy business cases and presentations
•Together with Segment teams, MD Finance and MD People and Capabilities, ensure all Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) Objectives are well thought through, with the aggregation of these plans leading to MD meeting and potentially exceeding delivery of the overall business targets.
•Together with the MD Finance, create and disseminate detailed portfolio/account level analytics to drive MD sales performance, ensure timely tracking of performance against agreed SIP KPI's, and execute real time corrective actions
•Together with MD Marketing, Segment leads, and MD Finance, implement rigorous processes that drive efficient utilization of MD A&M budget, CBA and Syndicated Marketing funds, and ensure effective monitoring and post activity evaluation of each major initiative.
•Together with MD Finance, Account/Country/Cluster leads, and MD Market Development leads, provide support in managing a rigorous monthly/quarterly process of regular performance reviews of key partner CBA's and strategic merchant agreements to drive best in class financial returns.
•Together with MENA Finance, review expense budget and communicate with respective business owners

2. Help driving efficiencies across Key Activities and Processes.

•Support in the coordination and management of the different Mastercard and non FI specific business forums.
•Support in the preparation and delivery of post meeting actions across the following forums; a) MD QBRs b) MD OPCO presentations c) MD Divisional alignment meetings and d) any other forums that are added from time to time.
•Across all forums, put in place a consolidated action tracker that is regularly monitored, reviewed, and followed up on, to ensure effective delivery by each action owner.
•Together with the EEMEA Head of Sales Excellence, support in the effective implementation of sales processes and disciplines across MD; such as prospecting, wallet sizing, account planning, pipeline management, expert sales elevator pitches, and structured RFP responses for Mastercard assets and solutions, amongst others, to ensure that the MD Sales teams operate with a consistent, structured, and focused approach that delivers strong commercial outcomes.
•Together with MD P&C, EEMEA Talent Management, and MD leadership team support in driving improvements in sales effectiveness, sales capability and sales process efforts across MD through a rigorous performance evaluation and development plan, and the effective utilization of strong financial and non-financial recognition programs.
•Support in carrying out comprehensive functional process mapping, identifying efficiency related areas of improvement, development appropriate recommendations, and leading process re-engineering initiatives to drive efficiencies.
•Work closely with Risk & Franchise Development to ensure compliance with the necessary policies and processes covering risk self-assessment, effective and timely escalations, issue aging and closure, business continuity management, etc.

3. Providing Administrative Support as required

•Together with MD Marketing/Segment leads, and MD Finance, support in the preparation, execution, and effective management of an annual MD customer engagement event plan.
•Manage and co-ordinate bi-weekly and monthly team events and meetings. Organize and co-ordinate any office event arrangements (e.g. Workshops, Conferences, Seminars)
oServe as administrative liaison to others within and outside the company.
oAs required, provide support on a variety of Administrative matters such as agenda management, meeting coordination, amongst others

KEY & CORE COMPETENCIES:

•Analytical ability that uncovers relevant insights; Knowledge of applicable analytical tools & techniques; Understanding of financial modeling and business process re-engineering; business plan development and business case modeling.
•Communications/Presence: Ability to clearly/credibly articulate own work verbally/in-writing, and demonstrate active listening.
•Team Contribution & Engagement Management: Work well with peers, internal customers, and external partners; Proactive collaboration with and support to the functions/verticals, Professional maturity in responding to coaching/performance feedback.
•Internal Stakeholder Management: Establish rapport with Account Leads, Segment Leads other Mastercard stakeholders across EEMEA, and Global functions across wider MCW world.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENT:-

•Undergraduate degree, MBA – desirable
•Excellent analytical skills, consulting experience is a plus
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Positive mindset, ability to work on a team or independently
•Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
•Strong decision-making and problem solving skills
•Advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and AI-tools skills
•Attention to detail
•Languages: English
