Title and Summary

Manager, Infrastructure Engineering and Cloud Operations Overview:
Mastercard's SessionM team is seaking a Manager, Infrastructure Engineering and Cloud Operations to lead a team responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and managing the AWS Cloud infrastructure and day-to-day operations. This role ensures high availability, scalability, and security across all platforms, with a strong focus on safeguarding the business through reliable, efficient, and optimized technology systems.
The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure with company objectives while driving innovation, best practices, and industry-leading security standards in cloud infrastructure management and operations.
SessionM, an engineering team within Mastercard Company, builds and maintains a cloud-based SaaS platform that empowers the world's most innovative brands to forge more robust and profitable customer relationships. Our Cloud-based SaaS platform powers loyalty & rewards programs and scales for the enterprise globally. SessionM is looking for the best talents to be integral to our Engineering team.

Role:
• Oversee the architecture, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Develop and execute strategies for scalable, cost-effective cloud and infrastructure solutions.
• Ensure high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery strategies are in place.
• Oversee User, BizOps, and SOC audits.
• Drive automation initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce manual tasks, and streamline operations.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions (e.g., Terraform) for managing and deploying infrastructure.
• Develop operational rub-books to manage certificates, vulnerabilities, and new environment standups.
• Lead and mentor the infrastructure and cloud operations teams, providing guidance, performance reviews, and development plans.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
• Ensure operational excellence by establishing KPIs, SLAs, and regular reporting metrics.
• Implement and manage security measures across infrastructure to prevent and address vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with Corporate teams to ensure end-to-end security from infrastructure to application layers.
• Continuously optimize infrastructure performance, cost, and operational processes.
• Manage on-call rotations to ensure service level SLAs are met 24x7.
• Work closely with application development, product, and business teams to align infrastructure with business objectives.
• Serve as the escalation point for infrastructure and cloud-related issues and incidents, ensuring timely resolution.
• Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to maintain effective relationships and negotiate contracts.

All About You:
• Demonstrated expertise in leading Cloud Infrastructure and Operations teams, with a focus on managing applications in the Public Cloud.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and guiding teams in their effective use.
• Proficiency in infrastructure automation tools and scripting languages such as Terraform and Python.
• Proven experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS-ECS) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab).
• Strong knowledge of AWS networking, including firewall implementation, VPC private links, and other advanced networking features.
• Comprehensive understanding of network architecture, security best practices, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Solid experience and understanding of the ITIL framework for IT service management.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities, manage stakeholders, and deliver on time.
• Exceptional ability to build influence, foster relationships, manage conflicts, negotiate effectively—and enjoy the process!
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
