Title and Summary
Manager, Product Delivery - Japan Role OverviewThe position of Manager, Product Delivery, Customer Delivery & Care will play a crucial role in driving Mastercard's next phase of growth in Japan – accelerating deployment of Digital, Acceptance and Authentication products and solutions to enhance acceptance quantity and quality.
Working cooperatively with internal Mastercard Acceptance and Technology Account Management (TAM) teams, this individual is critical to the successful expansion of Mastercard EMV and contactless technology in the Digital and Acceptance area within the AP region i.e. onboarding multiple transit operators and additionally, introducing to acquirers and merchants, followed by market launch and expansion of authentication-related initiatives - 3DS, Token Authentication Service, Secure Card on File and Click to Pay.
Main areas of responsibilities to Mastercard include Product delivery and Implementation as follows:
1. Provide consultancy and project management for EMV, Mastercard Contactless (including mobile), Open-loop(EMV) transit, tokenization, e-Commerce and other EMV technology related projects to be implemented in Asia Pacific.
• Work with customer banks to meet their system / business needs and project timeline
• Work closely with vendors in the implementation process to ensure smooth delivery of the project
• Provide necessary training to the banks and vendors to support implementation.
2. Establish customer support for Mastercard EMV, Mastercard Contactless (including mobile), NFC and EMV based technologies across
• Assist the customers and Mastercard with any Mastercard EMV related projects including educational seminars for both external and internal customers.
• Join any sales calls together with Mastercard AP representatives where an EMV Subject Matter Expert is required.
3. Work with the Mastercard Vendor alliances to ensure appropriate support and services are being provided to our customers and assist where necessary to facilitate testing and type approval services.
4. Work closely with the vendors involved in the development of the product solutions testing and type approval services to ensure Mastercard requirements are met.
• Work with the Mastercard Product team and independent test labs to support vendor product certification.
5.Manage the infrastructure requirement for Mastercard Chip / EMV project implementations for the Asia Pacific region. Typically, tasks include:
• Manage and support products (including EMV and Mastercard Contactless) interoperability issuers' resolution.
• Manage and support the issuing and acquiring testing certification requirement and communication channel with various internal system teams
• Liaise and support key management service implementation and communication channel
6. Where requested, provide pre-sales and post sales technical support for Mastercard customers, including activities such as training workshops, customer implementation / integration support and problem resolution.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
Knowledge / Experience:
• Good understanding of Mastercard products and services.
• Proven experience in the payments industry and deep understanding of EMV and contactless applications.
• Ability to identify issues before they develop into problems; proactively resolve issues directly or through escalation to appropriate partners.
• Extensive, proven project management, problem solving and planning skills with a demonstrated record of success managing multiple projects with external and internal clients simultaneously.
• Understand customer and constituent needs, marketplace dynamics, industry trends and the competitive landscape.
• Experience working across multiple levels, functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex technical and business information in an ‘easy-to-understand' manner; able to effectively deliver messages both verbally and in writing
• Excellent project management capabilities - strategic, highly organized and able to attend to critical details
