Overview
The Treasury Services Program is one of the key businesses of Mastercard. We provide vital systems and services to the Mastercard Treasury and Finance team to support global payments/customer funds movement, treasury operations, liquidity, foreign exchange, risk management, and capital management. We are directly responsible for moving billions of dollars in domestic and cross-border currencies worldwide daily between our customers. We are an agile development organization with teams distributed globally across technology hubs in the U.S., India, and Ireland.

Role:
We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to join a feature team which is building and maintaining a new modernized settlement application. This application facilitates the transfer of billions of dollars per day worldwide.
A Senior Automation Test Engineer designs testing methodologies, tools, and standards based on industry best practices and performs comprehensive software testing. The role involves leading complex initiatives, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions across projects.

Responsibilities

Lead and Manage Testing Projects:
• Spearhead complex testing initiatives; oversee the entire test cycle, including the planning, execution, and validation of manual and automated tests.
• Translate complex system specs into detailed test requirements and methods.
• API Testing: Design, develop, and execute API automation test scripts using Java.
• Automation: Create and run automated test suites and manage them through Jenkins pipelines. Analyze and optimize the automation framework and tests.
• Routine Testing: Conduct regular smoke testing and comprehensive regression testing.
• SQL (PostgreSQL): Develop SQL scripts using PostgreSQL and analyze outputs to identify defects.

Mentorship and Team Development:
• Guide, mentor, and educate junior automation engineers and testers.
• Work closely within cross-functional teams (e.g., product managers, developers) to define testing requirements for application development.
• Encourage knowledge sharing and the adoption of best practices within the team.

About You:
• Proven experience in test planning, execution, and validation, with a focus on automation testing (required).
• Proven experience mentoring and educating junior engineers and testers (required).
• Proven experience analyzing application logs and using debugging techniques to assist engineers in resolving issues (required).
• Strong ability to collaborate with business partners and developers to align testing strategies with project goals (required).
• Proficiency in Java for creating automation test scripts (required).
• Proficiency in SQL (required).
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies especially for testing of APIs and web applications (required).
• Ability to take full responsibility and ownership and carry out tasks end-to-end (required).
• Experience with streaming and event-based technologies such as NATS and Kafka (preferred).
• Experience with any of the following: Jenkins, Splunk, Dynatrace, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Docker, Chef Infra, Chef Habitat (preferred).
• Experience with shell scripting (ksh, bash) and familiarity with Unix/Linux (preferred). In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
