MasterCard is looking for brilliant and passionate Product and User Experience Designers to join its customer-facing global R&D / innovation services team – Digital Labs. Mastercard Digital Labs is a rapid-prototyping, piloting, and innovation design services team, working with Mastercard's global customer base of Fortune 500 companies, spanning all aspects of global commerce.
Overview.
We are looking for a highly skilled and creative Product Experience Designer to join our team. In this role, you will join a cross-functional team to deliver user-centered digital experiences across websites, platforms, mobile apps, and digital products. You'll work closely with product managers, developers, marketers, and content strategists to craft elegant, accessible, and conversion-focused interfaces that deliver real value to users.
Role
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on solving complex design challenges, is fluent in modern UX best practices, and can bring high-fidelity web and mobile design to life through systems thinking, HCD methodologies and a strong visual sense. Some key experiences required are that you are already a product and UX designer with a passion for product development and innovation.
Responsibilities:
In this client-facing position, you will:
• Lead the UX and visual design process for responsive web-based platforms, websites, and mobile apps from discovery to delivery across various projects.
• Create user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs in Figma and equivalent tools.
• Experience creating and/or using a variety of design artifacts like personas, journey maps, user flows, scenarios and storyboards.
• Collaborate with developers and cross-functional team members to ensure designs are implemented accurately and meet accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Design responsive, mobile-first interfaces with attention to performance and scalability.
• Maintain and evolve design systems and component libraries in Figma or equivalent tools.
• Use analytics and feedback to refine designs and improve UX iteratively.
• Advocate for user needs while balancing business goals and technical constraints.
• Longer-term engagements such as detailed design iterations and prototyping for concept and usability testing, as well as pilot projects.
• Deepening Digital Lab's future design and innovation capabilities.
• Supporting regional growth and team needs.

• Ensure all projects are completed on time, on budget and to world class standards.
• Continuous learning and building capabilities in rapid prototyping.
• Proven ability to work on your own initiative and deliver results.
• Experience in Agile development with strong experience in design and visual design skills.
• Expert knowledge of mobile devices, web interfaces, and their capabilities.
• Prior experience in both start-up and corporate environments.
Desired experience and skills:
The ideal candidate for this position should have:
• 4–7+ years of experience in UX/UI design or web design roles, preferably in a digital-first environment.
• A strong portfolio showcasing responsive web designs, mobile app designs, user flows, and UX processes.
• Experience in creating and/or using a variety of design artifacts, for example personas, journey maps, user flows, scenarios, storyboards, sketches, and wireframes.
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or equivalent design tools.
• Solid understanding of HTML/CSS and familiarity with front-end development workflows.
• Experience with CMS-based design (e.g., WordPress, Contentful, Webflow).
• Familiarity with motion design, micro-interactions, or prototyping tools like Principle or Framer.
• Experience in B2B, SaaS, or e-commerce environments.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum or with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1) and inclusive design principles.
• Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate design decisions to stakeholders.
• Knowledge of banking or financial products and services is a plus.
