Title and Summary
Vice President, Acceptance Overview:Latin America is a dynamic and rapidly evolving region, where digital transformation, financial inclusion, and innovation are reshaping the payments landscape. At Mastercard, we are committed to driving inclusive growth by expanding acceptance, deepening partnerships, and delivering tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of the region.
The Vice President of Acceptance – LAC will lead Mastercard's acceptance strategy across the region, focusing on strengthening relationships with digital commerce partners, enabling new business models, and accelerating the adoption of Mastercard solutions. This role is critical to unlocking growth opportunities and delivering a world-class experience for our customers and partners in Latin America.
Role:
• Regional Strategy & Execution:
Define and lead the acceptance strategy for Latin America, aligning with global priorities while addressing regional market dynamics, regulatory environments, and customer needs.
• Partner Engagement:
Build and deepen strategic relationships with key digital commerce partners. Identify new partnership opportunities and drive joint value creation.
• Market Development:
Collaborate with regional and global teams to expand Mastercard's acceptance footprint, particularly in underpenetrated segments and emerging markets across Latin America.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Product, Services, Franchise, Legal, and regional business units to co-develop and commercialize solutions that address local market challenges and opportunities.
• Sales & Account Leadership:
Support the development of a high-performing sales and account management organization. Implement systems for performance tracking, deal management, and strategic planning.
• Customer-Centric Innovation:
Partner with commerce players to identify business needs and co-create solutions that leverage Mastercard's assets. Drive bundling, repositioning, and innovation to meet evolving customer expectations.
• Thought Leadership & Advocacy:
Represent Mastercard in industry forums, regulatory discussions, and partner engagements. Advocate for the strategic importance of acceptance and digital commerce in the region.
• Internal Alignment:
Align LAC Global Acceptance community to ensure alignment on global priorities, share best practices, and capture market insights and customer feedback.
• Operational Excellence:
Develop and execute a regional operational model to pilot and scale new initiatives, ensuring agility, speed to market, and measurable impact.
All about You:
• Proven track record of driving revenue growth and market expansion in Latin America within business development, sales, or account management roles preferably in payments industry.
• Deep understanding of the Latin American payments ecosystem, including regulatory frameworks, digital commerce trends, and local market dynamics.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and complex programs in a matrixed, multicultural environment.
• Strong strategic thinking and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence internal/external senior stakeholders and partners.
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing go-to-market strategies and commercializing innovative solutions.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen, including P&L management and deal structuring.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills in English. Also, Spanish or Portuguese.
• Inspirational people leader with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
• Growth mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for driving impact in fast-changing environments.
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics and/or MBA preferred.
