Title and Summary
Vice President, Account Management The APMD Retail & Commerce group's mission is to develop and strengthen Mastercard's enterprise level proposition across the Region.The key areas of responsibilities for the overall group are regional strategy, business development and account management across Merchants (Regional and Global) and Commerce (Payment Enablers). Focusing on deploying initiatives identified as being high priority in delivering Regional and Mastercard goals, including:
• Positioning Mastercard as strategic technology partner, critical to profitability/ growth of business
• Deepening relationship with key global merchants, building a holistic engagement
• Cultivating new global partnerships and strategic initiatives with Payment Enablers
• Development of scalable sales/value propositions across industries to drive revenues
• Provide Thought Leadership internally and externally
The VP Retail & Commerce, is responsible for driving business development and account management across Asia Pacific for both new and existing key clients, including Payment Enablers and Merchants and as a result, driving growth in Mastercard revenue. The incumbent will be responsible for cross matrix collaboration, exercising leadership in driving Mastercard business with KPIs across volume, core revenue, cross sales revenue and strategic initiatives.
Summary of responsibility
• Define strategy and execute for Payment Enablers and Key Merchant partnerships across AP.
• Set and execute revenue retention and growth strategy for clients, existing and future.
• Budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting for the defined group of key clients.
• Lead a team across multiple projects in collaboration with regional and global teams.
• Quickly grasp new ideas, defining specific actions with clear accountability and roadmap.
• Responsible for all administrative and operational issues for existing target customer set.
• Identify new segments and product opportunities with cross functional teams to maximize penetration.
• Leverage the Mastercard suite of products and solutions to identify and develop new opportunities with to increase Mastercard share and volume to create new revenue streams.
• Develop account plans, GTM strategy, and deliverables for key global clients in collaboration with regional teams.
• Develop financial modelling and business cases for opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and external resources, including senior influencers, to ensure seamless strategy execution.
• Build a network with Mastercard regions worldwide to address global client needs and broaden strategic partnerships that have a global presence.
Experience / Education
• Strong expertise of working frontline sales with Global/Regional Non FI clients and Payment Enablers (consulting and/or industry experience)
• Preferably gained both within industry or from a top 5 management consulting firm
• Payment industry experience/ understanding of payment and information flows
• Complex “strategy through execution” projects; strategy in general but also sales and operations projects/change management/business transformation.
• International experience/ experience working with global brands
• Track record of building and growing complex partnerships, C Suite engagement
• Experienced senior strategic sales leader. A high level of business acumen and thought leadership
• Results driven, entrepreneurial and a proactive self-starter, requires minimal supervision
• Long-term strategic mindset
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
• Must encourage teamwork, integration & inclusion
• Comfortable networking and speaking in public including on panels and as a keynote speaker at industry events
