Title and Summary

Vice President, Accounting (GBSC) Overview
The Global Business Solutions Center (GBSC) is a shared services center within Mastercard whose mission is to add value to our partners and serve our customers by delivering operational excellence, enhanced customer experiences, and focused business results. The VP, Accounting will execute on this mission in collaboration with peers and support of GBSC Leadership.

Role
• Leads a diverse, global team with presence in multiple locations, with oversight of global Expense, HR, Lease, Occupancy, Fixed Asset, Consolidations, Intercompany and Analytic accounting functions
• Partners with Corporate Controllership to ensure accuracy of Financial reporting including reviews of SEC disclosures and footnotes
• Leads a team of Directors that deliver on financial accounting and associated daily operating activities while managing financial risk
• Leads and oversees compliance activities (e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley Act [SOX] and Operational Risk Management [ORM]) and communicates potential exposures to Leadership
• Oversees transformation of business processes leveraging automation tools to deliver innovative stakeholder solutions
• Liaises with GBSC, Regional, and Business Teams to ensure compliance with all represented policies and controls
• Evaluates financial and operational performance metrics, summarizes findings and makes timely recommendations to GBSC & Business Leadership
• Establishes collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders (e.g.. external auditors, third party vendors, corporate and business unit leaders) to achieve business objectives
• Serves as a point of escalation for compliance and service level issues

All About You
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• MBA / CPA / Chartered Accountant preferred
• Experience leading a diverse, multi-functional accounting and/or finance group
• Experience building collaborative working relationships with stakeholders at the global/regional or local level
• Extensive experience growing and motivating a team; coaches members through career milestones and progression
• Extensive experience delivering presentations and engaging with senior leadership
• Experience supporting multiple markets and prior shared services experience and BPO management preferred
• Established as a trusted advisor to business partners; consults on complex technical accounting issues to final interpretation in order to ensure the integrity of the financials
• Experience assessing the effectiveness and oversight of accounting control implementation; ensures compliance within a diverse organization
• Experience setting strategy for process improvement initiatives along with developing procedures for implementation
• Demonstrated successful oversight of the management and resolution of high-risk issues to ensure completeness and efficiency
• Experience leading processes with reliance on metrics-based performance management tools

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
