Vice President, Product Development, Reusable Identity Overview

Mastercard's Security Solutions organization within Services develops and delivers world-class security products and services for customers across the globe. As part of this organization, the Identity Solutions team delivers innovative, scalable solutions that protect consumers and businesses as new relationships are started and as they interact around the globe.
The Vice President of Reusable Identity will lead the strategy, development, and commercialization of Mastercard's reusable identity offerings globally. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of digital identity ecosystems, enabling secure, privacy-centric, and user-controlled identity experiences across sectors. The VP will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Data Science, Legal, Privacy, Marketing, and regional business units to drive innovation and scale adoption.

Role

This role requires a visionary leader with deep expertise in digital identity, strong strategic acumen, and a proven track record of building and scaling global products. The VP will be responsible for defining and executing the roadmap for reusable identity solutions, ensuring alignment with Mastercard's broader identity and security strategy.
• Own the end-to-end strategy, product development, and go-to-market execution for Mastercard's global reusable identity offerings.
• Develop the vision for reusable identity ecosystems, including e-IDs and digital wallets, in collaboration with regional and product stakeholders (e.g., Core Payments, Open Finance).
• Work closely with Mastercard regional teams, customers and governments to understand market needs and direction of travel
• Build, inspire and lead a high-performing team of product managers and cross-functional contributors to deliver scalable, privacy-preserving identity solutions that meet global regulatory requirements (e.g., eIDAS 2.0, DIATF, Aadhaar, TDIF, NIST, etc.).
• Develop and execute commercialization strategies to drive adoption and revenue growth across regions.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external ecosystem players to build interoperable identity capabilities and standards.
• Represent Mastercard in industry forums, standards bodies, and strategic customer engagements to shape the future of digital identity.

All About You

The ideal candidate will bring:
• Subject matter expertise in digital identity, authentication, and privacy-enhancing technologies.
• Proven experience in building and scaling global products or platforms.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and standards in identity (e.g., eIDAS, NIST, FIDO, OpenID).
• Deep understanding of legislation and regulation that impact standards for reusable identity
• Leadership experience at industry bodies influencing technology and/or policy. Board experience preferred.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex market needs into actionable product strategies.
• Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing senior stakeholder relationships.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive innovation.
• Excellent communication skills and executive presence.
