About the Position:

 

The SVP, Compliance at Matrix will oversee the management, updating and implementation of compliance programs designed to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. The SVP, Compliance will ensure that the company adheres to all relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies while fostering a culture of integrity and transparency. This role involves managing compliance risks, conducting audits, training staff, and advising senior leadership on compliance-related matters.

Responsibilities

About the Role:

  • Type: Full-Time, Salaried

  • Compensation: $245,000 (Target Salary)

  • Location: Fully Remote (must be located in the United States)

  • Hours: Full-Time, Days

What to Expect:

Key Responsibilities

Compliance Program Oversight:

  • Chair the company's Corporate Compliance Committee, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and fostering a culture of compliance.

  • Oversee and maintain an effective compliance program tailored to the company's needs within the healthcare industry.

  • Regularly update and refine the compliance program to reflect changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Regulatory Oversight:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as other healthcare-related laws.

  • Monitor and assess the impact of regulatory changes on operations and advise senior management on necessary adjustments.

Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and manage compliance risks across the organization.

  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize exposure to compliance-related issues.

Internal Audits and Investigations:

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure alignment with internal policies and external regulations.

  • Investigate reported or suspected compliance breaches and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.

Policy Development and Enforcement:

  • Draft, review, and update compliance policies and procedures to ensure they are current, effective, and enforceable.

  • Ensure consistent enforcement of compliance policies across all levels of the organization.

Training and Education:

  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure employees understand compliance requirements and ethical standards.

  • Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior throughout the organization.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Prepare and present regular reports on the compliance program, including identified risks, audit results, and corrective actions, to the CEO and Board of Directors.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead and mentor the compliance team, fostering a proactive approach to compliance management.

  • Collaborate with departments including Legal, Risk Management, and HR to ensure a cohesive compliance strategy.

Qualifications

 

Education:

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. A Juris Doctor (JD) is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or legal roles within the healthcare or medical risk management industry.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing compliance programs and mitigating compliance risks.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and other relevant federal and state laws.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and manage compliance risks.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior leadership.

  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing a compliance team.

  • High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to upholding the company's values.

Certifications:

  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
