Job Summary:

This position will manage the comprehensive end-to-end processing of commission plans and sales incentive payment calculation for all commissionable positions. Plans, manages, and executes the development and maintenance of processes to calculate and pay commissions and incentives to brokers and internal sales personnel.  Administers commission and incentive plans in compliance with corporate policy and legal specifications.  Communicates with sales leadership about details of sales, commissions, and bonus payments.  Ensures the timely and accurate reporting of all related transactions.  This position will collaborate with product, and sales/services, finance, and human resources leadership to ensure operational alignment.  This is a Hybrid position in Chicago, Illinois.

Essential Functions:

·         Manages, and directs staff and third-party vendor responsible for paying agents, brokers and internal sales staff; mentors staff to develop functional and critical thinking skills; reviews and revises departmental processes as situations warrant.

·         Ensures accurate and timely payment of commission, overrides, bonuses, and incentives that are compliant with regulations and contracts; resolves escalated issues regarding payments, contractual obligations and other matters that develop.

·         Provides direction to internal resources and third-party vendor regarding system maintenance and development requirements.    

·         Ensures accurate and timely commission and incentive financial statement information, analyses of variations from forecasted and prior period results. Leads completion of commission or sales incentive audits.

·         Documents requirements to make appropriate updates in commission system as new compensation plans are approved or existing programs are modified. Identifies process improvement opportunities and leads projects to implement recommended enhancements.

·         Helps analyze payment data; provides key guidance on administering capabilities of system when new plans or plan changes are proposed

·         Ad-hoc projects; other functions

 



Qualifications

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field

·         8 years progressively responsible experience in a finance area of which 3 years are of a lead supervisory role.

·         4 years experience with commission or incentive payment systems or relevant experience in a finance operational area preferred.

·         Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

·         Proven experience implementing and coordination of accounting objectives/procedures with senior management.

·         Intermediate MS Office Skills

·         Information systems knowledge as acquired through education or experience.
