Financials Systems Analyst III
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, updates and maintains financial systems and related reporting. Recommends, creates and implements tools, processes and procedures to address specific business needs. Provides user training and support and acts as a liaison with IT to resolve systems issues.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes existing processes and system functionality; assesses needs of user and optimizes system data to provide information needed; analyzes data to ensure accuracy.
- Performs financial reconciliations of source systems to the General Ledger.
- Creates systematic solutions for department projects. Analyzes user requirements; designs, tests and implements.
- Provides user training and ongoing support on financial systems databases and software. Acts as a liaison with IT to resolve system issues.
- Creates analyses and reports for management decision support, regulatory filings and other business needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Sr. Financials Systems Analyst
Job Summary:
Performs a lead role in the preparation of internal financial statements, audited financial statements and regulatory reporting through complex general accounting activities, analysis and staff oversight.
Responsibilities:
- Designs, tests and runs queries to generate monthly reports for premium, claims and enrollment to be used by several operating areas for financial reporting. Generates additional data reporting for various departmental needs including reinsurance reporting, group level analysis and TPA billing.
- Creates new tools and reports for Finance management to address specific business needs. Analyzes existing processes and functionality as they apply to business areas of interest; assesses data needs of user and utilizes current system data or develops new queries to provide information needed; analyzes data to ensure accuracy; provides ongoing support to users.
- Creates systematic solutions for Finance department projects. Requires ability to analyze user requirements; designs, tests and implements systematic solutions; provides ongoing support to users.
- Creates quarterly and annual reports for premium, claims and enrollment to be used in preparing the related regulatory filings required by state, the NAIC, and HHS.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Lead Financials Systems Analyst
Job Summary:

- Designs HCR data collection and reporting tools. Facilitates meetings with data users and utilizes problem solving skills to create solutions that meet user needs. Supports user issues and questions regarding the data and use of the tool.
- Creates new tools and reports for Finance management to address specific business areas requiring analysis. Requires ability to analyze existing processes and functionality as they apply to business areas of interest; assesses data needs of user and utilizes current system data or develops new queries to provide information needed; analyzes data to ensure accuracy; provides ongoing support to users. Assists in reviewing and streamlining processes for the finance department.
- Creates systematic solutions for Finance department and Executive management projects. Requires ability to analyze user requirements; designs, tests and implements systematic solutions; provides ongoing support to users.
- Creates monthly, quarterly and annual reports for premium, claims and enrollment to be used in preparing the related regulatory filings required by state, the NAIC, and HHS.
- Designs, tests and runs queries to generate monthly reports for premium, claims and enrollment to be used by several operating areas for financial reporting. Creates additional raw data for various financial reporting needs including Alliance tax analysis, group level analysis and TPA billing.

Financials Systems Analyst III
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems or Business administration.
- 3 years experience in financial systems analysis, preferably in a health plan or the financial services industry.
- Experience with Oracle Financial systems strongly preferred.
Professional Certification(s):
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong working knowledge of DB2, SQL, SQL Server, Microsoft Visual Basic, SAS and familiarity with mainframe-based accounting systems.
- Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills including Access.
- Ability to interpret and articulate standard business and financial concepts.
Sr. Financials Systems Analyst
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems or Business administration.
- 5 years progressive finance experience.
- Master's degree preferred.
Professional Certification(s):
- N/A

- Strong working knowledge of DB2, SQL, SQL Server, Microsoft Visual Basic, QMF for windows and familiarity with mainframe-based accounting systems.
- Intermediate MS Office Skills including MS Access.
- Proven ability to interpret and articulate complex business and financial concepts.
- Experience and in-depth knowledge of financial matters at a corporate level.
