Job Summary:

Acts as a primary point of contact for assigned large/key and/or more complex accounts for renewals, retention, and add-on sales for the subsidiary company's supplemental insurance full suite of employer group products. Develops relationships with producers, clients, and continuously provides each contact with anticipatory service by quickly responding to questions and issues. 

Responsibilities:

  • Implements clients which includes but is not limited to the following products:  Accident Indemnity, Accident Expense, Critical Illness, Cancer, Gap, Hospital Indemnity, Short Term Disability, Whole Life, Group Term Life, Group Dental, Vision etc.    
  • Works with the client and company third party administrator (TPA) to manage enrollment platform implementation including existing policy administrative systems or enrollment only platforms.  Coordinates EDI/API or other file transmission activities.  Coordinates with other outside vendors (Telemedicine, Third Party Payors etc.).  Manages the successful initial launch, group build, first and renewal invoices, claims, customer service, premium collection/application, and commissions.
  • Develops and sustains relationships with customers and brokers.  Responds to inquiries regarding claims, eligibility, plan design, renewals, selling additional products and reporting.  Maintains documentation of account activity.
  • Assists in the development of creative marketing ideas; coordinates with marketing communications to offer ideas regrading copy, design, and distribution of marketing pieces.
  • Provides reports to accounts within each account
    • Continually analyzes project and program results, providing periodic summaries and updates management
    • Maintains a thorough record of the results of all active campaigns, reporting those results to management
    • Develops on-going strategic recommendations for accounts
    • Maintains documentation of account activity
    • Monitors and communicates premium payment issues to producer/client
  • Works closely with claims professionals on unique situations and communicates with client/broker accordingly
  • Independently researches the marketplace, organization, customer & outside sources for new ideas and opportunities.  Active in developing those opportunities into partner relationships
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors' degree in business management, marketing, or related field.  In lieu of degree, may consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of prior group insurance Account Management or Client Relationship Management in the group voluntary/supplemental worksite arena

Professional Certification(s):

  • Any applicable insurance license required for doing business in assigned states

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to support presentations made to larger clients
  • Strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel ,Power Point, Teams, and Outlook; ability to quickly learn new systems/processes
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task; manage and prioritize multiple client needs
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of health, life, and indemnity insurance products
  • Major medical knowledge/understanding is required specifically for Gap insurance
