About the Job

General Summary of Position
The incumbent in this position will work in a multidisciplinary lab working with a variety of service lines. Procedures include: Diagnostic Cardiac catheterization ICD and Pacemaker procedures Electrophysiology and Ablation procedures Diagnostic and Interventional Peripheral procedures Interventional and Diagnostic Bronchoscopy procedures Bone Marrow Harvest procedures. The incumbent in this position will assist with all invasive procedures. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy policies procedures and standards.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities


  • Performs assorted patient care responsibilities for adults including starting IV's EKG monitoring cardiac outputs and prepping and draping patients.
  • Assists with invasive procedures such as; Diagnostic Cardiac catheterization ICD and Pacemaker procedures Electrophysiology and Ablation procedures Diagnostic and Interventional Peripheral procedures Interventional and Diagnostic Bronchoscopy procedures Bone Marrow Harvest procedures.
  • Performs quality control functions of the X-ray console/equipment before procedures.
  • Assists physician during the procedure. Removes/ pulls arterial and venous sheaths from patient after procedure and apply appropriate manual pressure.
  • Records and interprets hemodynamic data using Mac Lab monitoring system.
  • Prepares all the equipment sets up field for all cases and cleans room for next procedure..
  • Participates in the orientation training and in-services for cardiovascular technologists and other staff in the department.
  • Assists with the inventory managing and stocking of supplies and equipment for the Cath Lab.
  • Exemplifies Guest and Staff Relations standards in all activities.

  • Minimal Qualifications
    Education
    • Associate's degree preferred
    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • EKG/hemodynamic monitoring. required
    Experience
    • 1-2 years Minimum of 1 year in Cardiac Catheterization or Interventional Radiology required
    • Additional exposure in Electrophysiology and specific Peripheral Interventions preferred
    Licenses and Certifications
    • RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist required or
    • RCVT - Registered Cardiovasc Tec required or
    • ARRT ARRT ARRT-CI or ARRT-VI required or
    • RCES - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist required
    • BLS - Basic Life Support American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required
    • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required
    Knowledge Skills and Abilities
    • Current knowledge and techniques in Cath Lab knowledge of cardiology meds EKG monitoring starting IV's must be able to act quickly and remain calm in stressful and emergency situations.

    USD $35.68 - USD $64.71 /Hr.
