General Summary of Position
As an Occupational / Physical Therapist with Certified Hand Therapist credential you will provide therapeutic interventions to prevent dysfunction restore function and/or reverse the progression of pathology of the upper limb (hand wrist elbow and shoulder) in order to enhance an individual's ability to perform tasks and participate fully in daily life situations. Using specialized skills in assessment planning and treatments CHT's assist with improving upper limb function alleviating pain and preventing disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed therapy as outlined by treatment plan and in accordance with practice guidelines. A comprehensive knowledge of the structure of the upper limb is required. As requested CHT's may participate in program planning and protocol development and assist the team in meeting established goals.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy required or
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy required or
- Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy
- Maryland District of Columbia (DC) or Virginia licensure required as deemed necessary for your specific location(s). required
- Successful completion of the CHT exam as administered by the HTCC. required
- Every CHT is required to demonstrate continued professional development and competency by recertifying every five years.
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required
- Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.
- Professional competency as a general practitioner in occupational or physical therapy;
- demonstrates independent use of varied evaluation and treatment approaches.
This position has a hiring range of
USD $60.00 - USD $60.00 /Hr.
