The Credentialing Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of practitioner credentialing across the health system. Working under the direction of the System Director, this position manages a high volume of compliance and renewal requests, tracks and updates expirable documents, and maintains data integrity within the credentialing database. The coordinator also assists practitioners with the online application portal and serves as a key liaison between affiliated hospitals, medical staff offices, and system partners. Primary Duties:
- Supports credentialing operations by maintaining accurate practitioner records, monitoring expirable documents, and completing timely primary source verifications.
- Coordinates with Risk Management to obtain and track annual certificates of insurance and ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Communicates with practitioners and affiliates to resolve missing, expired, or inconsistent credentialing information.
- Provides administrative support to the System Director and serves as a liaison for the online practitioner application portal.
- Contributes to departmental goals, quality improvement initiatives, and data standardization projects to ensure database integrity and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in healthcare administration, credentialing, or insurance/risk management.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management with strong organizational, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with credentialing policies, accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, NCQA), and general healthcare office procedures.
This position has a hiring range of
USD $20.57 - USD $36.27 /Hr.
