Critical Care APP (NP/PA) – ICU & CVICU Opportunities | Washington, D.C. Region

MedStar Health is seeking experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioners (AGACNPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) to join our growing Critical Care teams throughout the Washington, D.C. region, including opportunities at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, and MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center.

 

Opportunities are available in both Mixed Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Units (ICU) and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Units (CVICU), caring for some of the region's most complex and critically ill patients.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage critically ill adult patients in ICU and CVICU settings
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
  • Collaborate with attending physicians, intensivists, surgeons, consulting specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary teams
  • Perform advanced bedside procedures consistent with training, experience, and departmental needs
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and care coordination
  • Provide patient and family education and support
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Current AGACNP certification (NP) or NCCPA certification (PA)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Eligible for licensure in Maryland and the District of Columbia
  • One year or more of Critical Care, ICU, CVICU, Hospital Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, or other relevant inpatient experience
  • Experience managing high-acuity patients in an inpatient setting
  • Experience performing advanced procedures
