Summary:
MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is seeking a highly organized and analytical Data & Education Specialist to support the Case Management team and initiatives focused on reducing hospital readmissions and improving patient care outcomes. This role partners closely with leadership, clinical teams, and IT to gather and analyze data, develop reporting tools, and support training and system optimization within the department.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Analyze and report key operational data by preparing monthly reports on readmissions, length of stay, and transitional care activity to support leadership decision-making and process improvement initiatives.
Manage and develop reporting tools within EPIC and other systems, including ad hoc reporting requests that help the department monitor performance and improve care coordination.
Support EMR education and system adoption by assisting with onboarding new staff and providing ongoing training on EPIC and other clinical applications.
Serve as the department's liaison for technology and reporting needs, partnering with IT and applications analysts to troubleshoot issues, support system implementation, and improve workflows.
Provide administrative and operational support by assisting with Medicare appeals coordination, payroll preparation, time and attendance tracking, and other departmental initiatives.
Minimal Qualifications:
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred (Relevant experience may substitute for education.)
Experience
- 3+ years of administrative support in a health related field required
Technical Skills
Experience developing reports using Microsoft Excel and healthcare systems such as EPIC, Cerner, or Allscripts preferred.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple hospital departments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
This position has a hiring range of
USD $20.57 - USD $36.27 /Hr.
