Job Summary: 

MedStar Health is looking for an Outreach Representative to join our team! The ideal candidate will be bilingual (English/ Spanish) with great interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication. Familiarity with Baltimore City area preferred. 

The Outreach Representative will fulfill the outreach criteria required by the Cancer Screening Program to identify and recruit uninsured, low-income, Spanish speaking women for the Cancer Project. Fulfills the recall criteria required for returning patients. Performs office functions.

Primary Duties: 

  • Accurately and neatly documents all outreach efforts, successful and unsuccessful, and home visits. Submit documents on time. Answers the phone. Provides translation from Spanish to English. Performs office duties such as enrollment, scheduling appointments, mailings, filing, recall, and other clerical duties as assigned.  

  • Performs recall independently and according to program policy. Coordinates and/or arranges taxi transportation for clients when the need is expressed and according to policy. Works collaboratively with patients, case manager, clinical staff, and providers. 

  • Assists in the development of plans and strategies for reaching Spanish speaking women by providing suggestions on focus areas and events. Works collaboratively with case manager, clinical staff, and providers. Assists with special projects as needed.  

  • Facilitates target population's understanding of the importance of early detection of cancer through regular screenings by providing information in Spanish. Provides program and eligibility information to women seeking services. Collects demographic data required to determine program eligibility for free screenings. Documents neatly and accurately. Participates in external reviews by the State, TJC, and other accrediting groups.  

  • Recruits eligible, Spanish speaking women for the project by promoting the program at designated establishments, events, and other outreach activities within the community. Represents the program and hospital in community outreach efforts, especially those in Hispanic neighborhoods.  

 

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • Customer service experience preferred. 

  • Qualified Bilingual Staff Level 1 within 1 Year.  


This position has a hiring range of

USD $20.57 - USD $36.27 /Hr.
