As an OR nurse here, you'll do more than assist in surgery — you'll be part of life-changing moments. What You'll DoDeliver expert perioperative nursing care for a wide range of surgical procedures including general, vascular, cardiac, neuro, and transplant cases.
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and patient with precision, focus, and composure.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless procedures and the highest safety standards.
Serve as the patient's advocate before, during, and after surgery, safeguarding dignity, comfort, and outcomes.
Support performance improvement, evidence-based practice, and quality initiatives across the perioperative service line.
Mentor and support new team members by sharing your knowledge and passion for the OR.
Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred or enrolled within 12 months and completed within 4 years.
Experience: Prior OR or perioperative experience preferred. Strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and a calm presence under pressure are essential.
Licensure and Certifications:
Active RN license in the District of Columbia (DC is not part of the compact).
BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross within 90 days of hire.
Specialty certifications encouraged and supported.
