General Summary of Position
The incumbent in this position is a skilled rehabilitation technician who under direct supervision aides and assists Occupational Therapists (OT) Physical Therapists (PT) and Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) with the treatment of their patients. They may also be required to perform non-patient care related duties such as inventory supply ordering transportation of patients and administrative duties as assigned. The Rehabilitation Technician II will be proficient in at least two areas throughout the department assist with staff mentoring and orientation. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy policies procedures and standards.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in a medical science or exercise science preferred
- Minimum 2 years of current clinical practice 20 or more contact hours of ceus involvement with at least 4 special projects/program development and proficient in at least 2 rehabilitation areas. required
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required
- Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patient the medical and professional staff and the public.
- Ability to read understand and respond to detailed oral and written English language instructions.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Demonstrates knowledge of relevant therapy practices.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Must have the ability to learn and integrate protocols and precautions related to patient treatments.
This position has a hiring range of
USD $18.70 - USD $32.72 /Hr.
