General Summary of Position
Supervises department activities and maintains standard of quality plans directs and supervises all technical aspects of the ultrasound department in regard to services programs and evaluations of such programs. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department and for making work assignments to accommodate the work requirements. Performs diagnostic ultrasound examination for subsequent evaluation by radiologist and treatment by attending physician.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Education
- Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiographic Technology as well as an accredited school of Medical Ultrasound Technology. required
- Competency in professional practice in supervisory skills as appropriate in the practice of diagnostic medical sonography. preferred
- Certification by accredited school of ultrasound. (ARRT and ARDMS) required and
- Licensed by the State of Maryland required
- Ability to comprehend and follow the policies and procedures for MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center.
- Ability to read write and speak or communicate in English to successfully accomplish the essential duties of the position.
- Ability to demonstrate ethical behavior that supports the hospital's mission values and commitment to compliance with all federal state and regulatory laws. Inspires trust and exhibits honesty and integrity within the scope of daily activities.

- Ability to offer and act on constructive feedback. Contribute to a cohesive group relationship use open communication to identify and resolve problems in and between the departments.
- Ability to make suggestions for improvements to procedures or innovations to enhance patient service.
- Knowledge skill and ability to utilize correctly all diagnostic ultrasound devices and equipment.

USD $41.98 - USD $75.62 /Hr.
