MedStar Health is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our infusion team at the MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute at Washington Hospital Center. This role focuses on the clinical management of patients undergoing routine infusion therapies, contributing to high-quality cancer care in a supportive and structured weekday-only environment.

Our research engine is Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center in Washington, D.C. The Institute takes a multidisciplinary, or "team" approach to care and offers the latest in diagnostic imaging; infusion; surgery; radiation services such as brachytherapy, IORT, and The Edge; survivorship and support programs such as transportation assistance, social work, nutritional support, and financial guidance.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday

  • 8-hour shifts

  • No nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor patients receiving routine infusion therapy including chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments 

  • Identify and manage infusion-related reactions, symptoms, complications, and side effects, collaborating with the primary oncology team as needed.

  • Triage emergencies 

  • Operational responsibilities include: collaborating with key teams to improve scheduling, medication prep, patient flow, and outcomes through policy development, quality initiatives, and research
