General Summary of Position

MedStar Health is looking for a Community Health Outreach Manager to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center!

POSITION SUMMARY

The Community Health Outreach Manager oversees community benefit/community health activities and identifies, develops and/or sustains working relationships with public, private and faith-based partners. The outreach manager will identify, test and implement new programs and services that strengthen the relationship between the hospital and the community. Special emphasis will be placed on cultivating community-based interventions that optimize the health and well-being of discharged patients. The manager also establishes and manages institutional procedures and practices to capture, document, validate and report community benefit activities in accordance with IRS guidelines. He/she oversees all administrative duties for the Community Relations Department.

Primary Duties:  

·       Leads the planning and execution of community health initiatives aligned with the hospital's Community Health Assessment Implementation Strategy.

·       Collaborates with internal teams and external partners to implement and evaluate evidence-based health programs and initiatives.

  • Manages data entry and reporting of community benefit activities using CBISA software, ensuring compliance with IRS and hospital standards.
  • Oversees departmental budgets, vendor contracts, and production of community outreach materials, including newsletters and educational resources.
  • Partners with philanthropy and marketing to secure funding and promote visibility for community health programs and outcomes.

Qualifications:  

  • Master's degree in religious studies, public health, nursing, or related field (Required)
  • 1-2 years of progressively more responsible job related experience (Required)
  • Grant writing experience (Preferred)

 

Licenses/ Certifications:

  • CHES - Certified Health Education Specialist (Required)


This position has a hiring range of $63,793 - $113,318
