Inpatient/Outpatient Ortho Surgery Physician Assistant Opportunity at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center – Olney, MD

MedStar Orthopaedic Institute is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our established Orthopedic Surgery team at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center. Our specialists are committed to providing comprehensive care—from diagnosis and treatment to recovery and return to activity—for patients of all ages and activity levels, including professional athletes. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, patient-focused team that treats a wide range of orthopedic conditions, from simple injuries to complex surgical cases.

 

Role Highlights:

  • Primary responsibilities include assisting in the OR (dominant portion of the role), rounding on inpatients, and providing care in the outpatient clinic setting.

  • Support patient needs including answering clinical questions, managing prescription refills, and ensuring continuity of care.

  • Work alongside a strong, well-staffed team of 5 Orthopedic Surgeons and 3 Physician Assistants.

  • Exposure to a variety of subspecialties, including spine, sports medicine, hand, joint replacement, and general orthopedics.

 

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

 

Qualifications:

  • Prior orthopedic experience and/or comfort in the OR preferred.

  • New graduates with a strong interest in orthopedics are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience in orthopedic spine is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Education/Training
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Experience
- License/Certification/Registration 
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 
- Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.
