General Summary of Position

Join the exceptional nursing team on one of MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's Intermediate Care Units (IMC), located in the new Verstandig Pavilion on the Georgetown University campus. The unit features all-private rooms and advanced medical technology for innovative, high-quality care.

 

MedStar Georgetown is proud to be among the top 1% of U.S. hospitals with a five-time Magnet designation. This 28-bed unit is also certified by The Joint Commission as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, placing it among the nation's best in stroke care.

 

The IMC offers nurses a chance to apply critical care skills in a step-down environment, focused on stabilization, recovery, and discharge preparation. Patients primarily include Neurosurgery, Neurology, and telemetry-monitored medical cases.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse you will provide transitional care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex, monitor their progress and prepare them for discharge. You will utilize critical thinking skills to analyze trends and changes in patient status and plan appropriate interventions directly or indirectly along with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

 

  • ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.

 

  • Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.

 

  • Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.

 

This position has a hiring range of $38.00 - $63.30
