General Summary of Position
Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizes the skills gained as a student in a Nursing degree program to assist the Registered Nurse in the care of a group of patients.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Active enrollment as senior nursing student in an accredited nursing program required
- Successful completion of 1 year of a Clinical Nursing Program including Fundamentals of Nursing (or the equivalent) required
- 3.0 or higher GPA (transcripts must be submitted at the end of each semester) required
Experience
- Prior work experience not required
Licenses and Certifications
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant by the Maryland Board of Nursing. required
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required
- Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to demonstrate competencies in intravenous catheter insertions, I.V. site changes (preferred), dressing and inspections, and blood drawing within established time frame.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
This position has a hiring range of $17.5 - $28.73
