General Summary of Position
The Patient Safety Manager leads the implementation strategy and evaluation of patient safety initiatives within the organization. Reporting to the Senior Director of Patient Safety and Quality, this position will lead safety-related strategies aimed at reducing preventable harm, supporting high-reliability principles, and foster innovative approaches that positively impact the culture of safety. The Safety Manager provides leadership in safety event investigations and safety education.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare related field required
- Master's degree in nursing or healthcare related field preferred
Experience
- 5-7 years in healthcare with at least 3 years of experience in patient safety, quality improvement, or risk management. required
- Experience in acute care facilities preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) within 1 Year required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong familiarity with event reporting systems (such as RLDatis), Just Culture, and psychological safety principles.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills, excellent communication and facilitation abilities.
- Knowledge of safety science, human factors engineering, and high-reliability principles.
- Ability to solve problems in a complex and dynamic organization.
This position has a hiring range of $80,995 - $152,027
