General Summary of Position
Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy or designee, coordinates the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and monitoring of the pharmacy automation systems. Automation systems to include, but are not limited to, automated dispensing machines (ADMs), IV workflow software, and kit inventory management software. This individual will be considered a subject matter expert in the use of the automation systems and provide training to end users as needed. In addition, performs the duties of a pharmacy technician as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required
Experience
- Less than 1 year 6 months related pharmacy technician experience, hospital environment experience preferred
- Experience with hospital pharmacy clinical applications
- Experience with automated dispensing machines
Licenses and Certifications
- Maryland Pharmacy Technician License required and
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (C.Pht) within 180 Days required and
- Pharmacy students actively enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school are exempt. required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all internal and external customers
- Moderate computer skills
- Ability to read and comprehend drug nomenclature and related medical terminology
- HIPAA policies on confidentiality
- Proficiency in basic mathematics, including fractions and decimals
- Ability to work cooperatively with hospital and pharmacy staff
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
This position has a hiring range of $19.17 - $33.08
