General Summary of Position
Join our team at MedStar Health as a Phlebotomy Specialty Technician at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, MD!  In this role you will perform all aspects of phlebotomy functions and specimen collections to include venous and capillary collections and/or glucose testing, while following the proper standards and practices.  In addition, you may be required to verify patient insurance and performs basic data entry to register and accession in and/or out-patient orders while complying with the MedStar Laboratory Compliance Plan.   Working hours for this role will be 1pm - 930pm, 1 day a week and every other weekend.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
Education

• High School Diploma or GED required or
• equivalent; required and
• completion of Hospital approved phlebotomy course. required

Experience

• Less than 1 year 6 months phlebotomy experience preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Phlebotomy certification preferred and
• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State (DRLIC) Valid driver's license in the State of Maryland and dependable vehicle for transportation preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic computer skills.
• Verbal and written communication skills.

This position has a hiring range of $19.17 - $33.08
