Description
MedStar Washington Hospital Center has a full-time Supervisor opening for our Communications Center team. This position supervises and monitors the 24 hour operations of the Communications Center. Provides hands-on assistance to ensure appropriate staffing coverage, as needed. Supervises, trains, counsels and develops operator staff. Ensures the preparation and processing of billing functions within functional area. Maintains and updates communication system databases. Provides various administrative and system support for the voice processing, paging, patient information systems and communications assistance services. Manages inventory and distribution of telecommunications equipment/directories.
This department is open 24/7 and will require working on day/evening/night shifts as well as weekends.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Less than 1 year of progressively more responsible job-related experience in a customer service-related field required
- Previous Telephone Operator or call center experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication/interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills
