Find your calling at Mercy! The Charge Nurse manages the operations of the department. They are the leader who provides support, mentorship, and guidance to those who provide direct patient care. The Charge Nurse will coordinate the delivery of patient care by determining staffing needs and making patient assignments by choosing the right assignment for the right person. The Charge Nurse will ensure that all patients receive timely, safe, effective and high quality care. They coordinate the patients plan of care with the bedside nurse. The Charge Nurse will set the expectations regarding professional conduct and serves as a resource for the patient care unit. The Charge Nurse will hold direct and indirect care providers accountable for their professional responsibilities and adherence to regulatory guidelines. The Charge Nurse performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Mission, Values and Mercy Service Standards. Position Details:
UP TO $20,000 SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE for nightshift only -NO CONTRACT

Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
- Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
- Physical requirements/demands:
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Unit Information:
- 4C- serves the medical cardiac population by managing chronic and acute onset diseases while balancing the need for telemetry and cardiac management. The types of patients we serve are those with multisystem management needs such as heart failure, respiratory distress, unmanageable dysrhythmias, pneumonia, sepsis, COPD, diabetes and gastro-intestinal conditions. We also coordinate management of patients needing cath lab, angio, dialysis, outpatient infusion/chemo, and anti-coagulation therapies.
